I wrote this essay for Amherst’s required seminar for history majors, “Writing the Past.” focusing on historiography and methodology, our case studies included the 1619 project, the historiography of the holocaust, and the historiography of the atomic bomb.
this was my contribution to a group research essay for a history class offered by ies granada (the program i enrolled in for my semester in spain) titled “civilización islámica en españa y el norte de africa hasta 1492.” For our final project of the semester, my group decided to focus on the history and legacy of “convivencia.” each group member wrote their essay separately before turing them in together.
I wrote this paper for a racial justice philosophy seminar, where our primary text for the semester was tommy shelby’s book Dark Ghettos. In it, i critique shelby’s seeming indifference to political feasibility as a requirement for enacting justice.
